Director of Original Digital Content

Our company is seeking a visionary and highly creative Director of Original Digital Content to lead the development of repeatable content franchises and platform-native IP across YouTube and other digital channels. This role will be a driving force in shaping the next generation of sports-adjacent entertainment, building original, talent-led formats that grow audiences, create cultural relevance, and unlock scalable brand opportunities.

The ideal candidate blends creative instincts with strategic rigor. You’ve built content people seek out (not scroll past), know how to turn ideas into formats, and can lead a nimble team of creatives from pitch to post. You’ll work closely with our social and brand teams, but your mission is clear: create digital-first IP that lives beyond the feed.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and lead repeatable digital-first content franchises with YouTube as a primary destination
  • Architect format ideas around on-camera talent (athletes, creators, influencers) that feel both native and engaging
  • Develop and test original IP through short-form experimentation and iteration
  • Own the roadmap for our digital original slate, from concept to post
  • Collaborate with social and brand teams to optimize packaging and discoverability
  • Guide a nimble team of creative contributors with a focus on experimentation, speed, and excellence
  • Build scalable formats that grow audiences and can span talent or evolve into larger content universes
  • Track content performance and use insights to refine formats and execution
  • Stay plugged into trends, tools, and platform innovation to keep us ahead of the curve

What You’ll Need

  • 8–12 years of experience developing digital content, preferably in entertainment, sports, or creator media
  • Proven success launching video franchises, especially on YouTube and TikTok
  • A track record of working with high-profile talent to build authentic, compelling formats
  • Strong creative instincts paired with a data-informed mindset
  • Ability to manage and inspire creative teams while operating within a fast-paced, startup-minded environment
  • Deep understanding of digital video production workflows: short-form, vertical, and long-form
  • Familiarity with YouTube Studio, TikTok Creator Tools, and third-party analytics platforms

Location: New York City (frequent on-set presence required)

Travel: This role requires frequent on-set presence with talent, primarily in New York City. Occasional travel (approximately once per month) may be required based on production needs.

Note: Applicants should be based in or willing to relocate to the New York area. The expected start date for this role is no later than August 25, 2025.

Salary Range: $145,000 – $185,000 based on experience
